Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, died in the early hours of July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra after a brief illness. He was 60 years old. His death was confirmed in an official statement by Baba Jamal & Associates, representing the Fosu family, describing the musician as “a national treasure” and “a cultural icon whose music transcended generations.”

The statement read:
